Heidmar Goes Long Range
April 18, 2013Heidmar has added another two LR1 product tankers to its Star Tankers fleet. The 72,652 deadweight “Kaspar Schulte” delivered to the pool on April 17 and the 72,663 deadweight “Abram Schulte” will join up within the next week. Both ships were built in 2004.
Speaking about the new ships, Heidmar’s Star Tankers Pool MD, Jesper Bo Hansen, said; “We are very excited to be adding another two LR1 product tankers to the Star Tankers fleet. The prospects for considerable growth in the products market are strong. From increased diesel exports out of the USA to rising gasoline movements into Africa and naphtha arbitrage opportunities from the U.S. and Europe to Asia all benefiting LR1 tonnage, the addition of these 2 ships increases the Star Pool’s earnings potential.”
Chartworld Navigates To Heidmar Pools
April 10, 2013Two Heidmar pools have attracted new tonnage and a new pool member. The new pool member, Chartworld of Greece, has committed two LR1 product tankers to Heidmar’s Star Pool and one Aframax to the company’s Sigma Pool. The 2008 built 73,796 deadweight “Palawan Star” joined the Star fleet on April 5 2013 and the 2009 built 73,677 deadweight “Mindoro Star” will follow suit about a week later. Chartworld will also deliver the 2008 built 112,969 deadweight “Everglades” to Heidmar’s Sigma Pool on April 10.
Speaking about the new arrivals, Heidmar CEO Marc La Monte said; “We are deeply gratified by Chartworld’s commitment to both the Star and Sigma pools. Heidmar has a long history of working closely with experienced and first class Greek shipowners. Like them, Chartworld shares Heidmar’s values of commercial and operational excellence, and transparency of reporting. The addition of two LR1s to Star Tankers further expands Heidmar’s sizeable footprint in the fast growing global products trade and the addition of an Aframax to Sigma Tankers cements that pool’s leading position in the sector.”

Corporate Citizenship
Christmas at Sea
Heidmar staff generously donates to the SCI’s“Christmas at Sea” program that provides a variety of Christmas gifts to mariners. It seems ironic that mariners who work to deliver goods from around the world to our homes and workplaces can find it difficult to obtain the same items of modern convenience. With long stretches on the water and long distances from home, mariners miss the opportunities that land-dwellers often take for granted. The Seamen's Church Institute (SCI) promotes the safety, dignity and improved working environment for the men and women serving in North American and international maritime workplaces.
