Company History

Built from the ground up with two vessels, the M/T Torator and M/T Toranus, today Heidmar manages a fleet of over 120 ships.

Some of our major milestones include:

  1. 2011

    Heidmar enters agreement with General Maritime Corporation to add seven of its VLCCs into Seawolf Tankers pool. 

  2. 2010

    Seawolf

    Heidmar establishes the Seawolf Tankers Inc. VLCC pool.

  3. 2009

    Womar

    Heidmar's Marida Tanker pool and W-O Shipping's Yamuna and Ganges pool form a joint venture to commercially manage small tankers.

  4. 2008

    Heidmar

    Shipping Pool Investors Inc., purchases 49% stake in Heidmar from Morgan Stanley. Heidmar management purchases a 2% stake.

  5. 2007

    Bluefin

    Heidmar establishes Blue Fin Tankers Inc., a new suezmax tanker pool. Heidmar Lightering Inc. sold to OSG.

  6. 2006

    Morgan Stanley

    Morgan Stanley acquires Heidmar Inc.

  7. 2005

    Heidmar establishes Marida Tankers Inc., operating tankers 5,000-18,000 DWT within Northern Europe.

  8. 2004

    Sigma

    Starting initially with 5 aframaxes, Heidmar establishes Sigma Tankers Inc.

  9. 2002

    Heidenreich Lightering

    Heidmar enters lightering service in the USG and opens Heidenreich Lightering Services, Inc. in Houston.
  10. 2001

    Dorado

    Heidmar forms Dorado Tankers Pool, Inc., a new clean product tanker pool for 34–55,000 DWT.

  11. 2000

    eFleetWatch

    Heidmar launches a state-of-the-art web-based voyage management system: www.efleetwatch.com.

  12. 1999

    Star

    The Heidmar-Pleiades panamax pool, founded in 1998, changes its name to Star Tankers Inc.

  13. 1997

    Heidenreich Marine (Far East)

    Heidenreich Marine (Far East) Pte Ltd. opens in Singapore.
  14. 1995

    Heidmar Spirit

    Heidmar and its partners purchase M/T Heidmar Spirit, a 63,000 dwt built in 1982.

  15. 1992

    Black products contract

    Heidmar signs evergreen contract with super oil major for moving black products on panamaxes from the UK / Mediterranean to the US.

  16. 1991

    London Office

    Heidenreich Marine (UK) Ltd. opens office on Old Bond Street in London.

  17. 1990

    Orimulsion

    Heidmar carries the first test cargo of Orimulsion (70% crude, 30% water + emulsifier) from Venezuela to the UK.

  18. 1989

    Protank

    Heidmar becomes a 25% shareholder in Protank, a ship operating company, gaining commercial control of 5 product tankers.

  19. 1988

    Heidmar operates 8 tankers

    Heidmar operates 8 tankers, some of which are time-charted tonnage with profit sharing and lower time charter rates.
  20. 1984

    Heidenreich Marine formed

    Per Heidenreich establishes Heidenreich Marine (Heidmar). Within 7 months, Heidmar is operating its first two tankers.
