Heidmar Crude and Products Fleets Expand

June 28, 2017

Heidmar’s Sigma Tankers pool has continued its growth spurt by adding one Aframax and, critically, two LR2 product tankers to the fleet in a timely move just ahead of the seasonally stronger third-quarter products market.

Established pool member Reederei Nord of the Netherlands has entrusted their 2017 LR2 newbuilding “Norddolphin” to the Heidmar-controlled Aframax/LR2 fleet.  It becomes the fifth ship that Reederei Nord has committed to the Sigma pool.

Qatar Shipping has also added an LR2, the 2006-built, 106,061 deadweight “Khawr Aladid”, doubling their pool participation.

At the same time, long-time pool partners Atlas Maritime have committed their 2003-built, 115,418 deadweight Aframax “Texas Star” to the pool.

The addition of the three ships increases the Sigma fleet count to 49 vessels – 34 Aframaxes and 15 LR2s.
